THEIR CHALLENGE

This company’s goal is to move 40% of the business through to e-commerce, so they needed to hire a strong digital leader to build the channel, lead the team and own all things digital across their three brands.

This company’s goal is to move 40% of the business through to e-commerce, so they needed to hire a strong digital leader to build the channel, lead the team and own all things digital across their three brands.

OUR SOLUTION

Working with the Commercial Director and CEO, we agreed to host a virtual talent event.

This ensured the opportunity and expectations were being sold very well and clearly, attracting the interest of the right people, and putting off the ones who wouldn’t be capable or motivated by it. 

Based on the importance of hiring someone with the digital skills the business knew were blind spots in their team, we included a technical screening with one of the Bolt Digital team, in addition to the best-in-class psychometric testing.

We also carried out an in-person, role-specific assessment centre and interview with the final shortlist to get a 360-degree view of their leadership capability, strategic thinking and cultural fit.

From the people who formally applied after the event, we completed the technical screening, and psychometric tests to get down to a final shortlist of four people to attend the in-person, role-specific assessment centre and interview with the Commercial Director.

The digital lead was hired and is still in place 24 months later. 

This role was hired just after lockdown, and was seen as a critical factor of the business not just surviving, but growing during Covid through their digital sales.
